Comikaze winding down, yet still going strong

The best is yet to come as Comikaze hosts “Sleepy Hollow,” John Barrowman of Doctor Who, various industry panels and blowout deals in the main floor on Sunday.
So far, we’ve celebrated Halloween surrounded by Cosplay of all sorts; witnessed the newest episode of YouTube’s Star Trek Continues; been both tantalized and violated by Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Animation; ran into MUCK and it’s Kickstarter to fandom; missed Adam West, but enjoyed being graced by the always flaunting Catwoman (Julie Newmar); learned about the new way of “dropping a LINE”; seeing good old Howie Mandel as his team petitions to bring back “Bobby’s World”; and enjoying the memorable and irreplaceable talents of Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) as Stan Lee continues to rock the show from all over the Los Angeles convention center.

Just a very small example of the many costumes that were sported all over the place during Oct 31-Nov 2 Comikaze fun. Many spectators say that there was better fashion being represented by fans than what was displayed on stage for the Geek Fashion Show.
On another note, gamers of all sorts could find something to enjoy at Comikaze as the gamer floor once again hosted Elvira’s Pinball Machines provided by Pinball Arcade and Deal or No Deal hiding within the Bobby’s World booth. On the opposite end of the main floor there were old school arcade games that people of all ages enjoy, along with the Dave and Buster’s Booth that featured some of their popular ticket games, various console games and opportunities to encounter interactive action packed activities that encouraged physical activity and developing skill.
Just inside the panel area a gaming room was filled by playing card gamers that were competing for some big prizes playing Magic and many other games throughout the day Saturday. Winners are yet to be announced.
Truly, it takes a great deal of talent to keep up with all of the Pop Culture trends that flood our lives. This convention has a little bit of everything: from Steampunk and various retro and geeky couture fashions, to new found writers and illustrators of children’s books and sarcastic independently funded comics that are looking to start out in the industry. If you’re looking to be noticed in any pop culture industry this con is definitely the place to be.
